[Experimental]

Usage

install_anystyle(user_install = TRUE)

Arguments

user_install

Logical. If TRUE (the default), the gems are installed in the user's gem directory (gem install --user-install), which needs no administrator rights. The executable then often lands outside the PATH: anystyle_path() looks there too.

Value

Invisibly, the path of the installed executable (or NA).

Details

Installs the anystyle Ruby gems (the parser and its command-line interface) with RubyGems. Ruby and the gem command must be installed first (see https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/downloads/).

Installing anystyle-cli also installs anystyle and its dependencies, among which wapiti, a C extension: a C compiler and the Ruby development headers (e.g. ruby-devel on Fedora, ruby-dev on Debian/Ubuntu) are needed. Extracting text from PDFs (find_ref()) also needs pdftotext (Poppler).

Examples
