Flag the points that no other point beats on both criteria
(higher is better for both): point \(i\) is on the frontier unless some
\(j\) has \(x_j \ge x_i\) and \(y_j \ge y_i\), with at least one
strict inequality. Applied to coherence and exclusivity, the frontier
holds the models worth considering: for any other model, one on the
frontier is at least as good on both criteria.
Usage
pareto_frontier(x, y, ...)
Arguments
- x, y
Numeric vectors of the same length.
- ...
Not used: an argument renamed in the development version of mintR gives an error
naming its replacement.
Value
A logical vector: TRUE for points on the frontier. Points with a
missing value are NA.
Details
\(O(n \log n)\): points are sorted by decreasing x; a point
is dominated if a point of strictly larger x has a y at least as
large, or a point of equal x has a strictly larger y.
Examples
pareto_frontier(x = c(1, 2, 3, 2), y = c(3, 2, 1, 1))
